Friday

PM - easy 6.4 in the Garden in the brand new Kinvara. 58 minutes.

Might have a free entry into the Transrockies Run. I know I said that last year, hopefully it goes through this time. Could make for a good week - PRing the Ascent, pacing at Leadville, and then running from Buena Vista to Beaver Creek...

22 days 'till NOLA.

Believe it or not, I'm actually following this blog to follow your training for NOLA and other events. I've picked up on the fact that you have 1) run a fair amount of volume, so your aerobic capacity is very good, 2) you do some interval/speed work. One question I have is about the marathon-specific work. Have you regularly done any work at goal marathon pace longer than 2000? Any further insights in to your training philosophy? Thanks for your time

I do interval work around 6 minutes a mile, and then everything else is done closer to 10 minutes a mile. No marathon pace specific work at all. For some reason this works for me, though I wouldn't recommend it for anyone else.
