my hero!

This blurb is taken straight from the world briefs of this mornings Colorado Springs Gazette.

"Drunkenness is off the charts"

Vilnius, Lithuania - Lithuanian police were so astonished by a breath test that registered 18 times the legal alcohol limit, they thought their device was broken.

It wasn't.

Police said Tuesday that Vidmantas Sungaila, 41, registered 7.27 grams of alcohol per liter in his blood repeatedly on different devices after he was pulled over Saturday for driving his truck down the center of a two-lane highway. Lithuania's legal limit is 0.4 grams per liter.

Sungalia, who was slapped with a $1,110 fine and the loss of his license for up to three years, told police he had been drinking the night before and tried to freshen up by downing a pint of beer for breakfast.

Oh, yeah...years ago, when I was at the Academy, they gave out these little cards to us to define alcohol levels (no, 18x wasn't on the card). It was in response to the "tradition" of doing 21 shots on your 21st birthday.

Stuff like 2 drinks, judgment impaired; 4 drinks, cannot drive/operate heavy machinery. Well, you get down to like 17 drinks, and it say "unconscious" BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! At 21-23 drinks, "death." Now, doesn't that imply some great friends, even after you pass out, they string up an IV and make sure you've got a drip going to make that 21 to 23 drinks point so you can die!? America's best and brightest, huh? What's that say about the leadership at USAFA? 'nough said.
