track

Two mile warm up, 4 x 1600m with 400m RBI, two mile cool down. 5:55, :46, :42, :44. Painful, in a good way. Really wanted to go 5:39 on that last one but really struggled over the final two laps.

Only have about three more weeks of hard training before Vegas. If I can push all my races (I have a lot of 'em before then) and get a few more of these mile workouts in, I'll have a decent shot at the marathon.

Still at 168.4 pounds this morning.

Brownie: Now sure you know of this book, but it's all about getting to your race weight. I just ordered a copy--hope to drop about 5 lbs. and get to about 165 for Leadville. http://www.amazon.com/Racing-Weight-Lean-Peak-Performance/dp/1934030511

...or you could eat better and drink/eat less. I wonder if I could sell that on Amazon.

I have that book, I wish I knew you wanted it. 165-170 is my perfect ultra race weight. Need to drop a little lower for the faster stuff.

Eating better is hard for me. And drinking less is not an option. The correct answer for me (for weight loss and most other problems in my life) is to run more.

I will say it was a lot more fun getting up to 180 pounds to compete in the clydesdale division...
