smart dog

Headed out with the dog this morning, despite the -7F temps. The dog got to the neighbor's yard, dropped a deuce, and suddenly developed an inability to put any weight on her front paw. No way we could go any further with her pathetic limp. But as soon as I turned around to take her the half block home, she miraculously recovered. Figured she was the smarter of us two this morning and canned my run.

Been tossing out some e-mails about a return to Imogene Pass this year. With a twist. Ouray to Smuggler's Brewery in Telluride, then back up over the hill to one of my favorite CO brewpubs, the Ourayle House...

Just making sure you are still alive...didn't want you to die from the shame of that Super Bowl loss and all the grilling Katie is laying on you over it.

An out and back? That could be quite fun.

I'm thinking to do the race, grab a beer, and head back out. Easily finishing before the sun goes down. Race date is Sept 10th this year, rego opens on June 1st.

A great training run for this would be to go from Alma to Leadville over Mosquito Pass. Such a shame there are no property owners up there willing to put this together...

Pretty sure that will happen this summer.

I would say we need a 'dry' run in July but it will definitely be 'wet'. Wed July 6 just before HR?
