26:59.6

Slightly more impressive than my Collegiate Peaks 25 miler yesterday, and at least on par with this guy crushing Miwok, was Chris Solinksy's awesome 10K last night. 26:59, a new American record! Other than a few track workouts I've done, Solinsky is the first white guy to break the 27 minute barrier. All I read about all week was Rupp and Salazar whining about where to run to break the record, crying about the weather and pollen counts and the price of tampons and whatever else. Kudos to this guy for throwing the hammer down!

Interestingly Galen Rupp found a tampon that fit well and broke the old record too with his 27:10 (old record 26:13 - Meb 2001), but it's so fitting that Chris blasted him out of the water by 11 seconds!!!
At those paces, 11 seconds is what... 70 yards???
