Some good ultra chatter over on the letsrun message boards.
"Ultrarunners are in the same category as cross-fitters and tough mudders. Complete hasks who can't handle real running events. Track, XC, and road racing are the only races that matter."
And since letsrun has us all in a cynical mood, here's a good article from Outside Magazine about drugs in mountaineering.
Found out Snoop Dogg (Snoop Lion?) is opening for Dave Matthews in Commerce City. Tix on sale this Friday! Notice how Snoop rocks the Pens jersey in the video. Dude is a big Steeler fan as well.

Wow, something new on LR.
The message boards will be justified when Haile Geb runs sub ten at Western!
I have always thought Snoop could be a good runner, he has that Culpepper build.
Snoop opening for Dave Matthews in Colorado, you should be good. I once attended a 2 Live Crew/Ice Cube concert in Orlando and felt even more out of place than I do on the track (fearing for our safety, we cut out a little early).
Some interesting chatter over there on Letsrun. I have only checked that site on a few instances (like now, when a blog friend links to it), but I find it a bit odd that in the thread about Sage, only ONE person commenting (a sane comment fwiw) is going by their real name. I can't take any of it serious when everybody goes by some anon screen name and find it to be a waste of time and energy (though somewhat entertaining at times I will confess). Just can't ever see joining the fray with a bunch on anonymous cowards. If you can't make a statement or comment under your own name, or say exactly what you might say in a crowded room, maybe you should not say it on a public message board? Just my .02. End rant ;).
I visit the message boards there to learn new insults to toss at folks I run with.
And we can't forget, letsrun.com is where Tony got his nickname, "Douche Rocket."
What they neglect to point out is that Sage is an ultrarunner. Just like Tim Olson.
I believe Sage's coach at Cornell is one of the guys who manages the letsrun website.
Judging by how much he gets ripped on that site, there must be thousands of posters who have run faster than his "pathetic" 2:16 marathon. In fact, I think the only marathon times more disrespected on that site are Ritz's 2:07 and Hall's 2:04.
Rupp used to get roasted there as well. But now that he's kicking ass, it's obviously because all of the Nike guys are on PED's.
