smut must be in love!

Mrs. Palin in her days as mayor of Mooseknuckle, AK. Hopefully there are fish in the pool and she's shooting them, I can't imagine anything that would be more American than that! Not sure if that's her husband or her daughter's kid's daddy, but either way he's superflycool because he's drinking Schlitz!

Just kidding (except the part about cool people drinking Schlitz). Grabbed that photoshopped pic off the internet. The entire Palin scandal is keeping me amused at work today. Colorado taxpayers have blown over eighteen grand on marijuana smokers from my office today, so it's nice to focus on other peoples' problems for a bit.

How do I get to be one of those bloggers the the right wing loonies are always bitching about?

The fish say, "Bullets don't shoot through water."

Yes, I think she's hot. Brownie's in love with the muslum messiah.

Can you identify what she's holding in the pic? Hint: DOF is wrong.

It looks like a gun to me. What do I win?

Is it a Crossman Powermaster 664 SB airgun?

C-4, you're retarded. It's obviously an official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot range model BB gun with a compass in the stock. Duh.

Hahahaha, dang you really crack me up, brownie. The kids are out of school, so it is time to take 'em to the Rupublican Headquarters for a little mini field trip. Want me to pick you up a bumper sticker?

Much better C4 - it shoots pellets, not bullets. I know first hand that bullets will travel through water - I've whacked turtles and a muskrat just under surface with a 22.

Brownie - there's no such thing as a "carbine-action". A carbine is a loose definition meaning it's a compact rifle. Red Ryders are lever-action. I got mine for my 10th birthday and seem to remember mine holding a whole 500 box of BBs with room to spare. Guess that makes it an "assualt weapon".

Well shoot, I learn something new everyday...I thought a bullet would quickly be deflected after comiing in contact with water...other than a 50 cal, which I have read will penetrate about three ft. I better go read up more. Or start turtle hunting.

I need to clarify that it depends on the angle it hits the water. You've got to hit it at a hard angle, say 30 degrees or better. I was way up on a bank when I whacked the turtles & muskrat underwater. When you're near water-level and shoot the bullets skip, so you have to be damned carefull of the background.

There's a show on the outdoor channel called the American Rifleman, and they've got a segment where they try all kinds normally dangerous things with firearms to see what happens, like using the wrong ammo, filling the barrel with mud and firing it, etc. Basically red-neck testing but done in a safe, controlled manor.

One episode's task was to see what happens when a gun is fired underwater. They mounted a 45 in a gun vise at the bottom of a swimming pool so it would shoot horizontally and tied a string to the trigger so they could remotely fire it. I can't remember if it bulged the barrel or if it cycled but the bullet went about 12 feet.
