competition

Meb Keflezighi and Ryan Hall will be at Boston. Read about it here. Can't believe they didn't include me in the article. Those two better watch their backs, I'm planning to make my move on Heartbreak Hill!

Speaking of Boston, I'm getting my plane tix today. What days is everyone going? Anyone interested in nailing Mt. Greylock with me?

The article you linked to says, "Keflezighi and Hall have proven themselves as two of the best distance runners of all time."

Among current runners, Haile Gebrselassie, Samuel Wanjiru, and Kenenisa Bekele certainly can claim to be among the best distance runners of all time. Meb and Ryan Hall? That's a bit of a stretch if you ask me.

Neither has won an Olympic gold medal. And neither is even close to cracking the top 10 in the marathon. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marathon#World_all-time_top_ten_lists

While neither has a title as prestigious at the Grace Bible Turkey Trot champion on their resume, Hall has run 2:06 and Meb beat a loaded field at NY. Certainly not THE greatest ever but I'd put 'em up there. But yeah, maybe the release should have said "two of the best American distance runners of all time."

Did you get the beta on the Saturday CRUD run?

2:06 puts you in rare air, as does a silver medal. Not a stretch.

The marathon is a confidence thing too. And now Meb has the confidence to know he should be there at the end.
