Some incredible pics of the Hardrock course over here. I reported on the rainbow while heading up Handies Peak but this is the first pic I've seen of it. Is it mid-July yet?
i'm having a hard time imaging it either way. It ufcking making my stomach churn just looing at it on my laptop. Guess I need to get rid of my fear of precipitous falls from ridiculous heights before I sign up for this race. That or just bring an extra pair of shorts.
Even though it's dark through there and you can't see how far you'd fall, if you stop and listen carefully you can hear Bear Creek running WAYTHEFUCK down below. You would definitely die if you fell in that section. Why the hell do people do that race again???

what's that red stuff in the second photo??
It's hard to see in the pic, but it's a course marker. If you look real close you'll see it's held there by a thin metal rod.
Ahh yes, now it makes sense. Looked like some spontaneous combustion of sorts.
That one photo he's got of the shelf at Bear Creek trail is ridculous. I'm surprised no one has fallen off there. It's so narrow and slanted.
I always go through that section at night. Which is good, I might not have the sack to do it if I could see how dangerous it is.
