Hard workout this morning. 12 x 400 meters, one minute rest in between. Hit the first one in 74, probably my fastest quarter mile since college. The rest were between 80 and 82, except for a 78 on interval #8 when I had to show Mike Safari that he has a long way to go before he gets the call up for the big leagues. Thought I was gonna puke on my last lap I was running so hard.
The douchebags at Colorado College won't let us shut the fences on the inside laps of the track anymore, so this workout was all done in lane three.

I got yelled at on Tuesday too...boo.
We found the janitor's to-do list this morning. It said:
1. Drink coffee
2. Yell at runners
I shouldn't talk though, I yelled at Beth for running so slow.
If by douchebags you mean Ted Castenada, then I hate to say it but it's his track. He dosent need to give me a reason to not run on the track and I have been yelled at by him myself. CC is a private school and we should be happy that we can even use their track at all. Next time walk around the track and see how poor it is getting again. It has been re-surfaced 3 times already in the past few years. I can't blame them for putting up the barriers. Track surfacing is expensive and time consuming. Manitou track is always open.
You know the staggers - right?
I'm not aware who Mr. Castenada is, but if he's the janitor who works at 6:15AM, then he's definitely a douchebag, at least to us. He always rolls in like he's a police officer, talks down to us, and I feel he is disappointed when we refuse to get into a pissing contest and go run the Santa Fe trail to avoid him. And I do run at Manitou a lot, it's an awesome track. I see janitors there as early as 5:15AM, and I always say hello and they're always very friendly.
But yes, I appreciate CC allowing us who have no connections to the school to use their track.
Ted Castaneda was the american record holder for 6 miles before Pre broke it. Ted was a sub 4 miler, holds the Colorado All Comers Mile time at 4:04 on the crap CU indoor track, was basically running the times that Pre and Shorter were and is one of the best runners from the 70's era. He also is in the Colorado Running Hall of Fame. He is the head track and cc coach at cc. Ted is very picky about people using the track. I have no idea why, but like I said even I have gotten yelled at from him about using the track and moving the barriers.
