Leaning towards running the Turkey Trot 5K at Cottonwood Park on November 27th for my next attempt at a Bolder Boulder A wave qualifier. I'd love to try at the Briargate Turkey Trot on the 26th, but the PPRR usually shame me into volunteering at that one.
But I'll always remember, there's only one real race on Thanksgiving day!

Forget trying to run an A Wave Qualifier at Brigergate. Not many people run in the 18 out there. Ive run it plenty of times and have only managed to run 16:09 or spmething around there. It is slower then Manitou Springs!!
Ment to say in the 18's.
I don't think I'll have that much trouble hitting sub 18 once I get a few races under my belt. I used to run low 17s and high 16s on a regular basis. It's just that I've forgotten how to turn my legs over that fast. Think I even ran 18:40 at Alex Hoag in windy conditions this past year.
Man my spelling is bad today! Yeah the thing with Alex Hoag is that you have a nice downhill and flat course for 1.5 miles which always leads to crazy mile times, and slow 1.5 to finish times. I have run in the 15's there, but its always a crap shoot. Wind = slow times, good weather = fast times. Up in Bri, you have plenty of hills in the first half of the race with more in the last half of the race. It always seems cold for that race as well. I would go up to Denver or Ft. Collins to hit your time. There are just no fast races around here for quite a while.
That's a good point. Plus at Hoag, I got in front early of a lot of people who I had never beat before, and killed myself to stay in front of them. I still remind all those people of that day.
I'll just run 18:19 at the Cheyenne Canon run this weekend and not worry about it anymore!
