look for the Rogue Running tent on 7th and Congress after your 3hr 32 minute marathon. I should have a beer or three for you there.

Why, is part of your race plan stopping there to fully recover before finishing the marathon?

MW said...

No, that's where i'll have the first aid personnel ready to assist you after you try to attempt and fail to finish within 30 minutes of me. If you decline their help, I'll have some beers for you instead.

Wow, you sure talk a lot of smack for someone whose workouts are faster than his race times! Maybe someday you'll put on your big boy pants and join me in the sub 3 club...

Maybe some day you'll stop talking about a race you ran 12 years ago, and start talking about the modern era.

I'm going to beat your 2:55:54 in the next 14 months, and shut you up for good.

and while I'm at it, I'm going to beat your 12.5 hour Bandera 100K time on my first attempt next year.

MW said...

how's that for smack talk?!

I'm going to win the next Olympic marathon with the world's first sub two hour 26.2!

Hey wow, this talking thing is easy! Backing it up, well, that might be a bit tougher...

Based on what I've seen over the last couple years that I've followed your adventures, you seem to lose almost every single (non-short) race bet you make.

Not that we're making a bet here, I'm simply implying that your track records suggests you're not too good at backing your shit up.

...and all I did was reach out to a visitor from out of state with some friendly Austin hospitality offering some cold beers after a race, and this is what you turned it into. sheesh

Still expect to have you drink a few with me on 7th and Congress!

brownie said...

What are you talking about, I never lose a bet!

brownie said...

And you actually said you'd beat me by half an hour, so if you're willing to put up some local beers I'll take that bet...

Should be good times. We'll see how well I fare with DeWitt's coaching. And, if all else fails w/ MikeW, Mehok is going to be at 46th/Ave H. And, can pull a Tonya Harding. I'm running for beer and trails. That is my motivation.

brownie said...

Woohoo beer and trails! It'll be great to get through with Austin so I can get off the roads again.

And don't look to Paul for Harding antics. I asked him to injure a local CRUD guy who has been on a winning streak lately. Paul injured him pretty good, but the guy can still train with a separated shoulder. Guess if you want something done right you hafta do it yourself.
